Talks 2023-24

Caerphilly Local History Society holds a series of talks each year at the Wesley Methodist Church, Crescent Road, Caerphilly. Meetings are held on the second Monday of each month and start at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome so please feel free to come along!

 

Our talks this season are as follows:

 

Monday 9th October:  Pat Jones Jenkins:

The Approach to the 400th Anniversary of the Building of Ruperra Castle - 1626. 

 

Monday 13th November:  Angharad Howell:

Caerphilly Castle Regeneration Project 

 

Monday 12th December: Robert Edworthy:

The Red and White Bus Company

 

Monday 9th January: Bob Price:

The Barry Railway Viaducts 

 

Monday 12th February:

A talk will not be held this month as a mark of respect to the late Dr Brian Davies

 

Monday 11th March:  David Maddox:

Williams Abraham 'Mabon' Worker's Hero?

 

Monday 8th April - AGM

Followed by a selection of slides showing the town and surrounding area in years gone by.


Annual Membership Fee £10

We very much hope Members continue to support the Society and that you enjoy the new season of talks. Remember, by becoming a Member, you are able to attend all of our talks fee of charge.

 

If you don't wish to become a member but would like to attend a particular talk, you are more than welcome and a small charge will be made on the day.
